A British company, D-30, has made a bright orange substance that will turn solid on impact. Here‘s a video showing the impact absorption of their new product. On CNN, it’s referred to as ‘Orange Goo,’ which is interesting, because I had an easy time imagining this being the blob’s cousin. On a much more scientific note, D-30 is using this for American Football helmets and British military armor. From the videos I have seen, it seems that D-30 has found a way to make their product less sticky and mold it to fit helmets. It absorbs 53% impact compared to foam, according to D-30’s video on CNN.

P.S. I was really feeling the puns, obviously. Don’t punish me!
